Last weekend there was one of the biggest festivals here in the whole year, the Mid-Autumn festival. One reason for the celebration is that the Moon is closest to earth and full, and thus it should be great time to view it. Didn't really catch the point because of the light pollution there is nothing special about it...But anyway there were dragon dances near Victoria park and some lanterns (light statue kind of a things) and different kind of shows going on in Victoria park. We went to see the stuff on Friday night.

My opinion of the dragon dance was that it was awfully lot of noise about so little. There were guys running through streets carrying a dragon kind of string with lot of incense stich burning on it. The smell was pretty nice if you like it. Then there were these other kind of dances where guys were standing on poles with a dragon suit on and dancing there. It was nice. There were "a few" people to see the show, so actually the thing worth going there was the atmosphere because of the people.

Victoria park was even more crowded. It was beginning to exceed the level where it was not comfortable anymore. There were some nice Chinese shows at least if you like little girls doing acrobacy and that kind of things. The light statues and lanterns were also pretty nice, but nothing really special.
